What a celebration: DAS FEST - a success story

Up to 250,000 visitors of all ages come together every year on the last weekend before the Baden-Württemberg summer vacations - i.e. at the end of July - in Karlsruhe's Günther-Klotz-Anlage to celebrate DAS FEST. This makes DAS FEST, which has been taking place since 1985, the largest family festival in southern Germany.

Well-known artists like Rea Garvey, Clueso, The BossHoss, Seeed, Peter Fox, Max Giesinger, Juli, Silbermond, Wanda, Faithless, PUR, Fury in the Slaughterhouse, Element of Crime, Apocalyptica, Guano Apes, New Model Army, Tito & Tarantula, Bananafishbones, BAP, Such A Surge, Gentleman, Chumbawamba, H-Blockx, Ska-P, Fünf Sterne deluxe, Simple Minds, Beatsteaks, Sunrise Avenue, Die Fantastischen Vier and Denyo have already been guests at "Mount Klotz" over the years.

The goal pursued by the organizers is clearly different from the other major German festivals, because it is intended to appeal to and entertain all segments of the population, regardless of their age and income.

For children and families there is the children's and cultural area, where the little ones can play, splash and experience small adventures. In the sports area, the annual FEST Cup in skateboarding and fingerboarding takes place. For fun sports enthusiasts, the sports area offers all kinds of other activities. Cross-generational offers are the FEST-Café, the culture stage and on Sunday mornings the classical breakfast on the main stage. The mixture of young and old creates the unique "FEST atmosphere", which is praised and appreciated by many visitors.
