European Festival Summit 2024
Karlsruhe will be the summit city next week. The European Festival Summit will take place at the Tollhaus from 18 to 20 November, bringing together festival organisers, interested stakeholders and event professionals from all over Europe. Invited by the European festival association YOUROPE and Karlsruhe Marketing und Event GmbH, which is organising the summit, the main focus will be on how festivals can make themselves fit for the future.
The agenda for the two days in Karlsruhe's creative cultural hotspot Alter Schlachthof includes exciting panels on topics such as AI and extreme weather, as well as discussions on the future of festivals and how their significance for society is changing. 24 events, lectures, discussions and excursions make up the tight programme of the summit, which begins on Monday evening with a relaxed get-together and is expected to attract over 200 participants from more than 20 countries.
The European Festival Summit is the final event of 3F Future - Fit Festivals, an EU-funded project by YOUROPE, led by Karlsruhe Marketing und Event GmbH, which looks at what responsible festivals will look like in the future, how festivals can become more resilient to the challenges of the future and how they can ensure that they continue to play an important role in the lives of millions of young people in Europe.
