Banda Senderos

Powerful beats, a mighty horn section and driving rhythms - the nine-piece combo from Essen combines reggae, dancehall and pop with traces of hip-hop and South American cumbia. Their origins are as colourful as their sound. Their members have roots in Chile, the Congo, Poland and Germany, and the two frontmen Sebastian and Dan sing in German, Spanish, French and the Congolese Lingála. The Banda Senderos' own biographies make the fusion of the most diverse musical styles into an authentic soundtrack of an urban, life-affirming youth that lives diversity as a matter of course and celebrates differences. Founded in 2012, their single ‘Ay Nenita’ was named Global Pop Hit of the Year by WDR broadcaster Funkhaus Europa just two years later.
