Behind the martial name Doodseskader - Death Squad - are Tim De Gieter, who until recently played bass for the Belgian post-metal institution Amenra, and Sigfried Burroughs, drummer for Kapitan Korsakov, among others. As a duo, the two have been trying for some time to find out what can be achieved in terms of heaviness in this constellation. What began as grunge-inspired sludge metal with their first EP ‘MMXX: Year Zero’ and came across as a brute bastard of hip-hop beats and hardcore on their debut album ‘Year One’ culminated in their second album ‘Year Two’ in 2023, on which Doodseskader create a soundscape with their musical wrecking ball to convey their emotions and messages in such a way that their lyrics hold up a mirror to real life.
