Julius Steinhoff

Born in Freiburg, he is anything but a stranger to the ever-expanding universe of deep house. As co-founder and one of the brains behind the Hamburg-based Smallville empire (record store / label / event curator), Julius Steinhoff is a musician, producer, DJ and organizer. He is part of a group of like-minded people who combine fresh ideas and individualism with a certain sense of tradition. A few years ago, he titled his own album "Flocking Behavior", a name that seems programmatically chosen for his work. The album was a man's love letter to his musical passion and a tribute to the diversity of the big three in house music (New York, Chicago & Detroit). Julius' DJ sets move between deep house and techno - always in the balance between atmospheric warmth and club suitability.
