Since their first album in 2001, they have shaken up the Norwegian music scene: ‘Ompa til du dør (Humppa til you die)’ won three awards, including a Norwegian Grammy, and became an enormous success. Since then, Kaizers Orchestra has made it to the top of the Norwegian album charts with each of its nine studio albums and has regularly played countless sold-out shows. They transferred their success to Europe with numerous tours and played all the major festivals, including three times in Roskilde alone. In 2011 and 2012, the band released their almost musical-like Violeta trilogy and announced their break-up after a farewell tour in 2013. After a new generation of fans discovered and posted their single ‘Hjerteknuser’ (2010) on TikTok, Kaizers Orchestra hit the charts again. In 2022, the six musicians, who are inspired by Tom Waits, Eastern European Sinti and Roma music, punk rock and march/humppa music, came together again. Their four-month, 56-date reunion tour in Norway sold out in less than fifteen minutes. In 2023, they released a new EP, ‘Dine Gamle Dager Er Nå’, and are now back on tour internationally.
