Markus Kleemann and Chhunly are regarded as outstanding DJs who are residents at the infamous Venus Bar and play a key role in shaping the electronic music scene in and around Karlsruhe. Markus, inspired by the American techno scene since 2009, has developed his own sound through influences from Dennis Ferrer and The Martinez Brothers, which is characterized by driving rhythms and dominant drums. Afro House, which transports the primal rhythm and connects people, is an integral part of his sets. He lives his musical enthusiasm every day anew. He also draws inspiration from soundtracks by Hans Zimmer or jazz. Markus also organizes events such as the hubRaum Festival and Zoom at the ZKM. Chhunly was already influenced by electronic music at the end of the 90s. Labels such as Perlon and Roulé inspired him. His driving, groovy beats get audiences from Frankfurt to southern Baden dancing. Since 2014, he and his collective "Listen or Dance" can regularly be found in various clubs and bars in the region, where he escalates the evenings into powerful sound experiences.
