Luam from Karlsruhe started playing music in the playground. While others were swinging, she learnt lyrics by heart and sang them with her friends. To accompany herself, she started playing the guitar at the age of twelve. She wrote her first song at 18. Luam combines rap and singing in German with influences from pop, soul, RnB and hip-hop. Her music stands for freedom, love and self-reflection. She brought this to the stage last year with a band. Now she is at a point where she is reorienting herself musically and redefining herself as an artist. In addition to her own music, Luam continues to campaign for greater visibility and community. With the Pileus Sessions, she creates a space for support, quality and culture. In times when many people are moving to the big cities, this platform is a valuable contribution to southern Germany's live music scene.
