He is a world-renowned percussionist, handpan player and composer. His acoustic percussion instruments merge with electronic rhythms and sounds from our environment, somewhere between ambient electronic and neoclassical music. The two-time Grammy-nominated composer and percussionist regularly collaborates with artists such as Björk, Anoushka Shankar, The Cinematic Orchestra and Ólafur Arnalds and has performed as a soloist with the London Symphony Orchestra and the Dutch Metropole Orkest, among others. Having performed in over 50 countries, he has also completed two extensive concert tours by bicycle. On the ‘ReCycling Tour’ in 2021 and 2023, his band and crew played around 20 concerts along a 1400 km cycle route, transporting all their equipment in bicycle trailers. On his current album “Snow From Yesterday”, the Tyrolean creates soulful sounds over which the interwoven vocals of the Austrian trio Mad About Lemon can spread out. Glacier mountains, rivers and even the smallest drops of water are sung about and reflected across endless oceanic expanses and millennia to see us humans as part of a greater whole.
