Spaulding

Music doesn't have to be rocket science - a few words and guitar chords paired with a catchy melody are often enough to produce songs that stick in your head. Spaulding from Karlsruhe, named after a character from the film ‘House of 1000 Corpses’, proves this. His music moves between energetic pop-punk and singer-songwriter emotion, somewhere between Blink-182, The Wonder Years, Jared Hart and Kevin Devine. Spaulding has been performing solo with an acoustic guitar since 2020 - in clubs and pubs, in parks and skate halls. For Das Fest, however, he is bringing his songs to the stage with a band. Together with musicians from Karlsruhe's lively punk and alternative scene, including members of Feel of The Knife, Foster Life and Deadbeat, his songs will be played as they can be heard on records and streaming services. They are a declaration of love to his hometown of Karlsruhe - to nights at the Carambolage and the Krokokeller, to encounters in the city centre.
