Predatory Void

For years, the area around the Flemish city of Ghent has proven to be a fertile breeding ground for innovative and experimental sounds in the field of heavy music. Predatory Void belongs to the Amenra environment, the so-called "Church of Ra", and was formed when Amenra guitarist Lennart Bossu wrote material during the COVID-19 pandemic that didn't fit in with his main band. He gathered musicians from his local scene to form a band consisting of vocalist and tattooist Lina R. (Cross Bringer), bassist Kris Auman (ENDLINGR), guitarist Thijs De Cloedt (Cobra The Impaler, ex-Aborted) and drummer Vincent Verstrepen (Carnation). Musically, Predatory Void is sludge metal with musical influences from death and black metal as well as elements of hardcore punk. In contrast to the complexity of Amenras' post-metal, Predatory Void's music is rougher, less polished, but still contains avant-garde elements. "We're not marketing strategists, we're five people who have an irresistible urge to make music and will no doubt fuck up from time to time. I hope that this will at least be interesting for people," says Lennart Bossu, who with Predatory Void is picking up on the earlier days of his predecessor band Oathbreaker. Their album "Seven Keys to the Discomfort of Being" was released on Century Media Records.
